A summary is a short piece of work that condenses the original work. It should highlight the main point to get the general picture from the piece
of writing or film. This is a simplified version but it asserts the core idea without reading or watching from start to finish. The reader can
envision what was originally written within a short span of time.
Included in the summary are the title of the literary work, the author or director, the characters and the gist of the story. These are the main
components that should be included in order to grasp the story. Minor details can be eliminated and should concentrate more on the significant ones.
It should reflect how the story was publicized though the writer's own words can be used in order to shorten it.
Take note of the most important part of each section and arrange them in chronological order. The flow of the summary should be in the same order as
how the events have happened. Most importantly, remember that the summary should not be based on opinion but rather on the author or director's conclusion.
